Morgan Grosz embraces Hoosier Hero award
South Dakota team lays groundwork for 2026
WATERTOWN, S.D. (Dec. 22, 2025) – The 2025 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show offered a different perspective for Morgan Grosz, as the Watertown, South Dakota, native attended the industry’s premier event not as a company representative, but as a Hoosier Hero award winner.
Rather than repping the familiar MyRacePass (MRP) colors she wears full-time in her professional role, Grosz proudly donned purple and the Hoosier Tire logo as one of just 12 racers selected for the honor.
A second-generation Dirt Late Model driver, Grosz was chosen from a pool of more than 50 nominees and advanced to the final group of 12. Each of the Hoosier Heroes received a monetary sponsorship as part of the program.
“The whole week was a whirlwind,” Grosz said. “It felt strange not spending most of my time at the MRP booth, but those guys are incredibly supportive and always have my back. I can’t thank my mom and dad, my husband, my MyRacePass family, and all of my friends and supporters enough for helping me get to this point. It was an emotional week and something I’ll never forget. A huge thank you goes to Hoosier for putting in the time and effort to create something like this — it’s an incredible way to give back to grassroots motorsports.”
The honor marked just the second time a WISSOTA-region competitor has been named a Hoosier Hero and placed Grosz among only three female finalists in the 2025 class.
“I was honestly shocked when I first found out I’d been nominated,” Grosz added. “Just making the initial list was special, but to become a finalist meant a lot to me and my team. There are so many talented racers involved, and it’s truly an honor to be included alongside them.”
The Hoosier Hero program was created to recognize racers who go above and beyond, embodying Hoosier’s values of passion, pride and success both on and off the racetrack. The process began with more than 400 nominations, which were narrowed to 25 semifinalists before the final 12 were announced at PRI. Winners were determined through a combined vote of fans, industry members and media, with more than 17,000 total ballots cast.

Looking ahead to 2026, Grosz carries added momentum as Morgan Grosz Racing prepares for a new chapter.. For the first time in Grosz’ career, her father, Scott Ward, who recently retired from full-time competition, will step into an expanded role on the team. Along with him comes decades of experience.
The two-car program — featuring Morgan and her husband, Lee Grosz — is slated to contest approximately 30 events during the 2026 season.
