Ward takes on John Seitz Memorial
On the first weekend in September, Morgan Ward and her Cloud 9 Bar & Casino No. 37JR team hauled to Grand Forks, North Dakota, for a planned three nights of WISSOTA Late Model racing at River Cities Speedway.
After Thursday’s Prelude to the Johnny was rained out at the quarter-mile oval, Ward was part of a 59-car field during the 19th annual John Seitz Memorial on Friday and Saturday.
Friday saw Ward start third and finish eighth in her heat race, putting her in the 10th spot to begin her B-Main the following night.
On Saturday, Ward drove from 10th to fifth in her “B,” then turned in a fourth-to-second run in her Last Chance Race. As a result, she narrowly missed a transfer into the night’s 92-lap, $9,200-to-win main event.
