Ward picks up Hard Charger award at Casino Speedway
Morgan Ward raced in a tough 30-car Tri-State Late Model Series field at Watertown, South Dakota’s Casino Speedway on Saturday evening. After a slow start, she and her Cloud 9 Bar & Casino No. 37JR team earned the night’s Hard Charger award with an impressive showing in the feature event.
Ward began the Clash at Casino by qualifying fifth in her group on the quarter-mile oval. She was unable to transfer into the main event through her heat race, but nabbed fourth in her B-Main. She started the 40-lap, $3,000-to-win feature from 20th on the grid and rocketed forward 14 positions to finish sixth.
