Ward grabs top-5 result at Casino
A strong performance resulted in Morgan Ward’s first top-five finish of the season on Sunday. Fittingly, it came at her home track of Casino Speedway in Watertown, South Dakota.
Competing in the 16-car WISSOTA Late Model class at the quarter-mile track, Ward drove her Cloud 9 Bar & Grill No. 37JR to victory in one of two heat races. She then rolled off from second on the grid to start the 25-lap A-Main and led the first five circuits.
Ward ultimately turned in a fourth-place result, taking the checkered flag following Tyler Peterson, Chad Becker and Jayson Good. Justin Karlen rounded out the top five.
